Can my beach towels be machine washed?

Yes, our beach towels can be hand-washed and machine-washed. Here are some general guidelines to follow:

1. Pre-treat stains:

If there are any stains on the towel, pre-treat them before washing. You can use a stain remover or apply a small amount of detergent directly to the stained area. Gently rub the fabric together to work the stain remover or detergent into the fibers.

2. Select the appropriate water temperature:

In most cases, polyester towels can be washed in warm or cold water. However, refer to the care label for the recommended water temperature. Hot water should generally be avoided, as it can cause the fabric to shrink or lose its color vibrancy.
3. Use a mild detergent:

Choose a mild detergent specifically formulated for delicate or synthetic fabrics. Harsh detergents can damage the fibers and affect the towel's performance and appearance. Follow the detergent's instructions for the correct amount to use based on the load size.

4. Wash on a gentle cycle

Set your washing machine to a gentle or delicate cycle to minimize agitation. This helps prevent excessive wear and tear on the towel.

5. Avoid fabric softeners and bleach:

Fabric softeners can leave a residue on polyester fabric, reducing its absorbency and softness. Additionally, bleach can damage the fibers and cause discoloration. It's best to avoid using fabric softeners and bleach when washing polyester towels.

6. Air dry or use low heat:

Polyester towels dry relatively quickly, so it's recommended to air dry them. Hang the towel on a clothesline or lay it flat in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. If you prefer to use a dryer, select the low heat or delicate setting to avoid excessive heat that could damage the fabric.
